E. coli outbreak sickens 24 in U.S.


24 U.S. outbreak of E. coli illness, the farm rich frozen food is suspected as a possible source of infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Friday.
Strains of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli O121, or STEC O121, broke out in 15 countries, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said in a statement.
New York state health officials found that the strains in the open package of farm-rich brand of frozen chicken quesadillas from the home of a sick person, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
Rich products company in Buffalo, NY, recalled about 196,222 pounds (89,000 kilograms) of the farm-rich brand frozen chicken quesadillas and some other the frozen small meals and snacks on Thursday, because they may be contaminated centers for disease control and Prevention said.
Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) investigation to find the source of infection, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
