Japan's Minister of Economic Regeneration, Mitsuki Maki, said on Friday that he opposed any measures to artificially control trade, and that he would seek a trade agreement with the United States that was in Japan's economic interest.
Asked in Parliament whether the United States would seek to limit the number of cars imported from Japan in order to reduce its trade deficit, Mr. Maki made the above statement.
