No sign of NAFTA agreement yet.


Sources said Canada and the United States showed few signs of reaching an agreement to amend the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on Thursday, and Canadian officials made it clear that the United States needed to withdraw the threat of possible car tariffs.
The U.S. government wants the United States, Mexico and Canada to reach an agreement on NAFTA by the end of September, but there are major differences.
"We're discussing some tough issues today," Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland told reporters after meeting with U.S. Trade Representative Jean-Claude Letschizer.
She has visited Washington for four consecutive weeks to discuss the NAFTA issue, and she has not provided more details.
The market's concern about the fate of NAFTA often hits the stock market in the US and Mexico. NAFTA relates to trade volume of US $1 trillion and 200 billion, and Mexico Mexico's economy is highly integrated.
