Hu Chunhua, vice premier of China, said on Wednesday that countries should "clearly oppose" trade protectionism.
"Trade protectionism and unilateral initiatives in some countries are severely weakening the rules-based multilateral trading mechanism, with the greatest risks to the global economy," Hu Chunhua said at the opening ceremony of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Global Economic Forum in Hanoi.
He said it is necessary to clearly oppose protectionism and unilateralism, firmly support multilateralism, support the global economy and the multilateral trading system.
