EU diplomats said on Friday that Britain's Brexit representatives will start a biweekly round of negotiations in Brussels as early as next week with the aim of reaching a speedy agreement on the transitional period.

Davies, the minister for British Brexit affairs, described the transition to Brexit in a speech as proposed by the EU. He said it expects the talks to begin in the next few days or weeks.

 

EU sources said that as soon as the EU ministers at the Brussels meeting formally endorsed the binding directive of the European Union's chief representative Bannyel, who is in charge of the negotiations on Brexit issues, the EU negotiating team led by Banny will prepare for the meeting Davis and his colleagues formally negotiated the post-Brexit situation in March 2019.

These sources said the first negotiation may be held as early as the second half of next week.

The agenda for these negotiations has not yet been formally established.
