Sentencing set for Ill. bookkeeper who stole $53M


Dixon former controller rita Crundwell was set to be sentenced to corruption of more than us $5.3 billion in northern Illinois city.
Crundwell sentence is scheduled for Thursday morning in Rockford federal court. She pleaded guilty in November wire fraud, admitted that she stole the money, and she is from Dixon, controller. She still faces sixty independent relevant state felony charges against theft in lee county. She pleaded not guilty those charges.
Crundwell stiles ask a loose prison, he said Crundwell and investigators cooperation. It will be at the low end of the sentence guidelines, in 13 and 16 years in prison. The most let she could face twenty years in prison. Prosecutors say her sentence should be the above guidelines.
