Cai Chongxin, vice chairman of Alibaba, said the escalating trade war between the United States and China was moving in the direction of a "cold war or geopolitical war", and its impact could spread globally.
The South China Morning Post reported Thursday that Cai Chongxin accused the United States of launching a trade war against China based on the "unfounded fear" that China's rise posed a threat to the national security of the American people.

Cai Chongxin made this statement at a conference held in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday morning in the South China Morning Post. South China Morning Post is the media of Alibaba.
The newspaper quoted Cai Chongxin as saying that the United States thought it could treat China in the same way as Russia, by isolating and hurting China, and launching a trade war against China was a lack of consideration.
He said the world will feel pain.
