An 82-year-old BBC radio presenter has been charged with the event more than three of indecent assault in the 1970s and 1980s, British police said Wednesday.

Hall (Stuart Hall), his home city in the North West of England Cheshire police under suspicion of rape and indecent assault "history", was held in a well-known sports and game show host.

He was subsequently charged with indecent assault on three girls. The police said, the girls events alleged to have occurred in 1974 and 1984 were 9 years old and 16 years old.

Hall enjoyed a career spanning 50 years, honor granted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services last year, broadcasting and charity.

Prosecutors say Hall has been released on bail to attend court hearings will be held on January 7.

Hall was released, not responsible for the rape charge and a separate allegation of indecent assault, police added.
